La Foire aux Laines (The Wool Fair)

La Foire aux Laines is a great medieval fair held the first week-end in July in the old part of the city. In 2020 this great annual fair will be held on Friday 3, Saturday 4 and Sunday 5.

Come and see the spectacular horse jousts, shows in the street and the medieval parade with its famous sheep. You can also see the medieval village, the taverns and the stalls set up in the old city. Access is free for all except the medieval banquet on Friday evening, which you have to book for.

La Grande Epopée

The fourth edition of La Grande Epopée show will be held in May 2020 during two week-ends on Friday 15, Saturday 16, Sunday 17 and on Thursday 21, Friday 22, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24.

This great medieval show retraces the life of Jean de Dunois by means of a one-hour guided visit to the castle. There are 350 volunteers: craftsmen, actors and people in period dress giving life to this Grande Épopée over various different days. New scenes are added each year to the show in order to make it even more immersive and captivating.

Animated guided tours

The Tourist Information Office organizes animated guided tours to visit the historical centre with actors in period dress and medieval scenes. The end of the visit will let you relive knights’ combats, see some medieval buffoonery and dances and admire the skill of jugglers and fire eaters in the final show. In 2020 these animated guided tours will take place on Saturday 30 May (20:30), Saturday 20 June (20:30) and Saturday 19 September during the European Heritage Days (20:00).
